Ship Car To or From Tennessee with M2 Reeves Car Shipping

Tennessee is a state rich with culture and history, but a lot of people really don't take the time to look at it. Many people who are looking at car transport to the state overlook some of the finer points, and we hope that you won't. Feel free to read all about Tennessee in this small article about the state and, just maybe, it'll help make up your mind about car transport.

Tennessee is bordered by eight other states, and there's only one other state that can boast as many neighbors (the state in question being Missouri). Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas and Missouri all share a border with Tennessee, and the state itself actually is further split into three grand divisions that mark its geography: East Tennessee, Middle Tennessee and West Tennessee. These divisions are handy to know - the better you know the state, the more informed decision you can make on future car transport.

East Tennessee

East Tennessee houses the Blue Ridge Mountains, which share a border with North Carolina and separate much of the two states. These mountains are characterized by high peaks and are composed of several distinct mountain ranges, including the Smoky Mountains, the Chilhowee Mountains, the Unicoi Mountain Range and (of course) the Iron Mountains. Average elevation is around 5,000 feet and Clingman's Dome (which just happens to be the highest point in the state) is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains as well. Also dominating the region are many ridges and valleys, which include tributaries that join together to form the Tennessee River Delta. This region is covered with fertile land, separated by different forested ridges and bluffs. These bluffs lower in elevation as they move west, and eventually give way to the Great Valley, and, further still, the Cumberland Plateau (located in Middle Tennessee).

Middle Tennessee

This region of Tennessee is covered mainly by the Cumberland Plateau, with flat-topped mountains and separated by sharp valleys. Further west, beyond the Plateau, lies the Highland Rim - an elevated ridge that surrounds the Nashville Basin. Car transport to Nashville, especially from southern states, passes through this beautiful terrain, and it's also known as the Pennyroyal Plateau (for its high tobacco yield), but most of this region lies in Kentucky, with only small overlap into Tennessee. This region is marked by fertile land and lots of wildlife, making car transport for outdoorsman high on the list.

West Tennessee

West Tennessee contains (or, rather, is known as) the Gulf Coastal Plain and it also includes what's called the Mississippi embayment. This region is the dominant land region in the state, and begins essentially in the Gulf of Mexico and extends all the way into northern Illinois (passing through other states as well). This section of the state is, in turn, separated into three unique regions, but we won't delve into them here. Car transport to the state can be tough through this swampy landscape, but there are moments of beauty, especially in the flood plains and the delta region. Feel free to look around as you're on your way to your new place.

The entire state has what is known as a humid subtropical climate. This is due to the Gulf of Mexico and its influences on the state, and summers are known for being hot and humid. Summer temperatures peak around 90 degrees, and can cool down into the 60's. During the winter, snow doesn't fall but it does get colder, with highs in the mid 60's and lows dropping below 30 degrees in certain parts. But don't let the weather scare you from choosing car transport to Tennessee - the weather in Tennessee is rarely more extreme than weather in any other state.
