Bound for Dry Ridge in 2010
This summer, our family is headed to Dry Ridge, Kentucky. A location that I’ve often told my boys has 3 girls to every teenage boy and is close to Cincinnati, Ohio and Lexington, Kentucky. It’s a hard sell to my two teenagers, but I’m working with what I’ve got.
Honestly, I miss the green grass and trees of Kentucky as well as the old fashioned values that I feel provide a better education for my children. I will be glad not to worry about silly dress-code restrictions for clothing colors, sports team logos, or shorts-permitted days. Living in California, we deal with these issues due to gang development. Fortunately, there just isn’t much gang activity, if any, in Kentucky.
This move will bring many positive changes for our family. The most exciting of which, is building our own home on a few acres of land for under $400,000. We can easily create our dream home for under $150,000 and this will provide the stability our family needs with better job hunting opportunities and long term means to support our children through college and beyond.
Getting ready for this move requires a lot of work. We’re planning to take the do-it-yourself approach with most of our belongings. I’m even planning to print family t-shirts proclaiming, “I survived the Moore Move of 2010!” I think it’s an experience we’ll all remember and hope to share some sites with the children along the way.
One thing I’m seriously considering is working with an auto shipping company to simplify our vehicle move. We have 3 vehicles and a tent trailer to transport from California to Kentucky. Even if we wanted to, there isn’t a way to tow or drive all of these by ourselves. Instead, I’m going to find an auto shipping broker I can trust. Besides the simplicity of this decision, I’ll save lots of money in the process. Gas is too expensive and even more so when you’re driving a U-Haul truck that’s towing another vehicle. Auto shipping really makes sense for us this move and I plan to research auto shipping brokers at M2ReevesAutoShipping.com. I know that I’ll find the most reputable auto shipping companies here and can quickly research the going rate to get moving forward. M2Reeves carefully pre-screens all of their featured auto shipping brokers, so I can rest assured knowing that these companies are trustworthy and experienced.
