Tacoma is a port city and the county seat of Pierce County, Washington State. Due to its location on the Puget Sound, the city is characterized by cool summers and cold winters. Temperatures in the summer months typically top out around 74 degrees with overnight lows dropping into the mid 50′s. During the winter, however, things cool considerably, with highs in the mid 40′s and lows typically hovering around freezing.
