Sandy Springs is a city in northern Georgia and was incorporated as a city in 2005. It is still considered to be a suburb of Atlanta and is actually the 8th largest city in the state, with an estimated population of just over 100,000 as of 2008. The city is named for the sandy springs that have been named a historic site within the city.

Its climate virtually mirrors that of its parent city, Atlanta, with temperatures during the summer reaching into the upper 80's and dropping overnight into the high 60's. During the winter months the city's high temperatures hit the low 50's, with lows dropping to the upper 30's or low 40's.
