Kansas City is a city in and the county seat of Wyandotte County, Kansas, and is currently the third largest city in the state of Kansas. The city was founded in 1868 and incorporated just four years later, and was one of the nation’s 100 largest cities for seventy years. It was a hotbed for anti-slavery/slavery battles, including major action during the fighting of Bloody Kansas. It remained a border state during the Civil War and afterwards continued to grow slowly but surely.

During the summer months the average highs get to around 88 degrees or so, while overnight lows drop to around 70 degrees. During the winter months, however, temperatures drop severely, with highs averaging 42 degrees and lows more often than not well below freezing, often into the 20′s.
